YouTube reveals more about YouTube stories

  • YouTube has announced that their version of stories is available only to creators with 10k+ subscribers
  • They stay up for 7 days and creators can add text, music, filters, stickers and more

YouTube has announced that videos will now auto play in the home tab

  • The videos will auto play on mute, with captions
  • YouTube has already seen longer view rates and better engagements on videos that are discovered this way

Instagram testing an option to side scroll on the feed

  • Riding off the success of stories, Instagram is trialing an option to side scroll through your feed
  • The motion is similar to how you advance through and browse stories
  • The feature will reportedly be optional

You can now select who sees your stories on Instagram

  • You can now restrict the audience that views your Instagram stories to a private group
  • Select people can be added to your ‘close friends’ group

Facebook tests new option to allow users to block specific words from their timeline

  • To give users more control over what they see in their timeline, a new keyword blocking feature is being tested
  • This would remove comments that include the selected phrases
